Love Never Leaves

A woman with long hair wearing glasses and a necklace, looking into the camera in a dimly lit setting.

Love Never Leaves is a debut album rooted in seasons of uncertainty, relational change, and quiet transformation. Rather than offering resolution, the album sits inside the tension—exploring what it means for love to remain when expectations shift and clarity doesn’t come easily.

With gentle, atmospheric production and intimate songwriting, the album moves through themes of longing, faith, and emotional honesty. Each song reflects a different facet of enduring love—love that doesn’t withdraw in the face of complexity, but stays.

About Love Never Leaves

I wrote Love Never Leaves during a time when a lot of things felt uncertain—shifting relationships, cross-country moves, a global pandemic, and big questions about who I was and what I believed. I didn’t have clear answers for what was going to remain and what was going to leave. It turns out that Love never truly ever leaves.

Writing these songs gave me a place to sit with that uncertainty—to hold it alongside moments of wonder, hope, and even celebration.

I didn’t want to rush to resolution. I wanted to make something that felt honest to the experience of being in the middle of things.

Every song on this album was shaped by the relationships that feel like home to me—individual people, my family, close friendships, and the communities that have encouraged my growth as a songwriter and, in many ways, inspired these songs themselves.

The Journey to Love Never Leaves

When I think about all the people who have given me hope, heart, inspiration, support, and encouragement to write these songs, I feel a kind of gratitude I don’t quite have words for - but I’ll try at least to list the people who helped me make this album.

Thank you to God for giving me a lifelong love of music—and the hunger to keep returning to it.

Thank you to my parents - Mike and Debby, my brothers - Grant, Chris, and Sam, my four-legged fur sister Maisy, my soul dog Albie, my late grandparents, my aunts, uncles, cousins, and honorary family members; for a lifetime of love. And especially to my parents, for recognizing something musical in me early on and giving me the opportunity to explore and grow that spark.

Thank you to Matt Patrick at The Library Recording Studio for being a brilliant, talented, and thoughtful co-writer, producer, and friend - thank you for your vision, encouragement, and guidance throughout this process. And thank you to the incredible musicians who helped bring these songs to life: Matt Patrick, Zach Miller, Aaron Fabbrini, and Ryan Cihlar.

Thank you also to Sara Groves, who first called me a songwriter at a time I was still saying “I hope I can try to become a songwriter someday” and who encouraged me to record this music. And for helping shape these songs and shape me as a songwriter.

Thank you to the communities that have formed and sustained me creatively and spiritually over the years: Art House North (shout out to Naomi, Allison, Sara, and Troy), Art House Dallas, Imago Dei Church in Peoria, All Souls Church of Boulder, Root & Branch Church - Chicago, Keats Camp (BC, circa 1990s), and the Peoria Songwriting Meetup. And thank you to my favorite Airbnb host (ever) Jennifer for her hospitality and to Brake Bread and Marc Heu Patisserie Paris for making so many phenomenal treats that I enjoyed thoroughly on my trips to the Twin Cities to make this album.

Thank you to my friends who have walked closely with me in this process and even listened to early parts of this album—especially Peter C, Hanna S, Charlotte A, Rebecca M, Jo K, Kostiantyn, Sid & Marco, Sarah & Owen C, Jessica & Joel G, Sarah M, Sarah D, Danny S., Libby M, Dave L, Marie M., Chesney G, Cameron, Alli P, Agnes, Koz Dog Park Weirdos, Melanie N, Morgan D, Samantha M, Chrissy M, Ben S, Sal , Lady Kellie, and Lady Rachel.

And thank you to the teachers and mentors whose belief in me has meant more than I can ever fully express: Kathie Filby, Dr. Ivan Filby, Dr. Donna Hart, Dr. Brian Hartley, Dr. Brian Reinhard, Ani Johnson, Dr. Michael Johnson, Dr. Christina Smerick, Dr. Craig Boyd, Dr. Richard Huston, Dr. Cary Holman, Dr. Teresa Holden, Dr. Chris Woods, Dr. Paul Vita, Luana Fischer, Dr. Elizabeth Richard, Dr. Kathleen Farrell, Dr. Bob Krizek, Amanda Z, Beth M, Ms. Jaclyn, Mr. Mercer, Mario, Simon Webb, the late Dr. Debra Marsh, and the late Veronica Ross.

And finally… thank you to everyone who listens. It means more than you know.
